Distilled water has virtually all of its impurities removed through distillation. Distillation involves boiling the water and then condensing the steam into a clean container, leaving nearly all of the solid contaminants behind. Distillation produces very pure water.

Olive Oil (olea europaea) is a very valuable ingredient used in shampoo and soap making. Olive oil is beneficial in soap as it is an excellent moisturizer, attracting external moisture and holding it to the skin, helping prevent loss of internal moisture.

Castor Oil (ricinus communis) is soothing and lubricating as it is quickly absorbed by the body. Castor oil is a natural humectant that attracts and holds moisture in the skin.

Kukui Oil (aleurites moluccana) is a rich source of linoleic acid, essential for healthy skin. It is an anti-aging and moisturizing oil that also acts as an excellent skin conditioner.

Coconut Oil (cocos nucifera) adds additional moisturizing properties to soap and helps to harden soap. It is THE most important ingredient for rich full lathering. Coconut oil lathers so well, it will even lather in salt water.

Sweet Almond Oil (prunus amygdalus dulcis) is rich in minerals, vitamins and proteins. It is an excellent lubricant that is softening, revitalizing and nourishing to all skin types. Sweet almond oil brings relief to dry itchy skin.

Palm Oil (elaeis guineensis) is the primary contributor to soap. It increases the hardness of the bar. This is extremely important as many other oils used in soap have a tendency to create a soft bar of soap.

Jojoba oil (simmondsia chinensis) gives your hair the extra protection, shine and body that we all like to have. It is an excellent conditioning treatment that benefits all hair types. Jojoba moisturizes, cleanses and revitalizes your scalp and hair.

Sweet Orange's (citrus auant dulcis) acid gently dissolves grease and dirt buildup and restores the shine.

Lemonseed Extract (citrus medica limonum) is a bio-citrus extract used as our natural preservative.

Sandalwood (santalum album) has a rich, woody, earthy scent that many feel contain aphrodisiac qualities. Sandalwood has both a calming and soothing effect on the body.

Patchouli (pogostemon cablin)is a powerful, pungent essential oil, mossy and musty, earthy and exotic. Patchouli cools and calms inflamed, dry, cracked skin and helps soothe dry skin and scalp irritations, keeping the skin clear and fresh.

Lavender (lavendula augustofolia) has a sweet, crisp scent. Lavender has a long history of cosmetic use. The name comes from the Latin ‘lavare’ which means ‘to wash’. It has a relaxing and calming effect.

Citronella Oil (cymbopogon nardus) is refreshing, vibrant, powerful, lemony, woody-sweet. It also acts as an insect repellant.

Rose (rosa centifolia) is comforting, calming and soothing on our senses and emotions. It is excellent to use in skin care to relieve dryness, inflammation, heat and itching of the skin.

I had been having a ton of problems with my scalp--hair falling, dry, itchy scalp, dandruff, you name it--and nothing helped, not even expensive prescription shampoos! There was a kiosk at the Ex, and I saw the two soaps and thought I'd give them a try. I can tell you, these bars are the best product I have EVER used on my hair, bar none (pardon the pun). My hair has never been fuller, and my scalp has never been healthier, plus my thinning areas have filled in. I will never use another product on my hair. I bought the original two bars in August, and it's already the end of January, and there is still afair bit of them left--so they are very economical too.

Yesterday morning I tried the shampoo bar and vinegar hair rinse. Fabulous. I'd been having issues with dry scalp and was scratching so much that I'm sure that people thought that I was 'lousy'! Not one itch yesterday! Another 2 products that I love.

I love it and so does my son. He always complained that his hair was dull,l mousey, lifeless and now, it seems to have come alive. We live in Granby where the water is hard and we can’t believe how your shampoo bar lathers!”

The shampoo bar is quite unbelievable. I can really feel and see a difference. The lather is so good I even shave with it. We have one in every bath in the house!

I told my hairdresser Jeannie about this bar shampoo I had switched to. She only had to wash my hair once (not twice, like she has always had to do) ... and she was hooked! She had such high compliments about the health of my hair. I told her that I am not loosing hair in my brush, how simple my hair is to comb out after washing, and how easy it is to simply wash & go. She commented more than once about my hair and the new shampoo I was using and how it works.

I really like this product on my skin and it smells awesome. The only reason why I'm giving it a 4 out of 5 is because if its used as a shampoo... its hard to get all of it out when rinsing especially on thick-ish hair. You really need to just make sure to massage the scalp continuously to make sure you get it all out. If you don't then that patch of hair will be sticky and gross.

We are happy that you like the soap bar, Nazia.  Thank you for taking the time to write us and to rate the product.  You need very little soap as shampoo. If you do try the soap bar again as a shampoo, you might also have better success rinsing with apple cider vinegar after shampooing. It helps in the removal of any soap build-up and at the same time nourishes the hair.

Just a short note to let you know that I LOVE your products. I've tried a few (x cream, emu oil, argan oil) over the last year or so, and everything so far has lived up to its promises. The latest success: your shampoo-and-soap bar. I've been struggling with psoriasis on my scalp for years, and tried every shampoo on the market with little or no relief from the itching. But after just one use of your soap, the itching is GONE -- completely. And my hair looks great! Plus it's squeaky clean too -- literally. Most of all, I can't say enough about the relief I finally feel... Thank you for making these amazing products!

The bars ARE very popular.  Thank you for a wonderful testimonial, Suzan

I absolutely love this stuff! My hair feels great. Definitely will be buying more of this before I run out of my shampoo bar!

We love to hear good feedback.  Thank you, Rebecca

I am very disappointed in this product. It leaves your hair feeling waxy and tangled.

Hi Angelina,

Shampoo bars can be tricky, especially as very little soap is needed, unlike liquids.  Depending on the hair itself, and the length of the hair, too much soap can leave it feeling heavy.  One needs to experiment if this happens.  Any excess residue can be removed with an apple cider vinegar rinse which is also a great detangler.
Please do call us for a refund.  Absolutely no problem.  Please do enjoy the bar as soap instead.

I was very interested in buying this or another of your shampoo bars but am quite dismayed that you use palm oil in many of your products. I thought that your company was Earth-friendly. Palm oil farming is responsible for deforestation and the loss of natural habitat in Indonesia and other countries. You should stop using it and find an alternative.

Hi Debbie, we hear you and appreciate your concerns. We have discontinued using palm oil in any new formulations. While we source sustainable palm oil for use in our original recipes, we are in the process of seeking suitable alternatives for those products.  For soap selection, our Castile Moringa soap and our Charcoal Clay soap are palm oil free.

Just ordered the bar shampoo, love the smell and it works wonderfully on my girls, but on me my long hair feels waxy and wet. Is this a transition faze or am I doing something wrong? I really want this bar to replace all the other shampoos and conditioners I buy. I tried rinsing with your apple cider conditioner. No help, will this get better?

Yes, it will get better, Genine.  When this happens it is generally because too much soap lather is being used. The  key is to use very little. Rinse well and continue using the apple cider vinegar once or twice a week. It may take a little practice, but the results will be worth it.  Please do keep us posted.

I purchased my shampoo bar at a Christmas craft show December 2018. I bought it because I shudder every time I throw another plastic shampoo tube into the garbage. This came wrapped in only a paper sleeve, so bonus points there! As I had a full bottle of shampoo on hand, I stuffed the bar in the cupboard. I am going to be heading out on a vacation soon, as some travel hints suggest bringing shampoo in bar form rather than liquid, so I thought I would take it for a test run before I packed it. I double-washed my hair, and put on my normal leave-in conditioner. My hair was amazingly full of knots, which as it dried, became even more pronounced. I've never had that before. In addition, the shampoo left my hair feeling waxy and prone to getting tangled. I had to rewash it the next day, as I just couldn't stand it. Don't know if I did something wrong, but I wouldn't buy this again, based on performance.

You were smart to try it first.  Don’t give up, Carol.  You need very little suds.  One wash is plenty and an apple cider vinegar rinse might work best as a conditioner, rather than the leave-in conditioner. Transition from shampoo to bar can take a little time, depending on individual differences. Please contact us if you like a refund. No problem.

I had been wanting to try a shampoo bar for a while and decided to grab an Earth to Body shampoo bar at a craft sale.....I also got the hair rinse.....after a couple of days my hair had so much more body and others noticed! Once I ran out of the bar I decided I would just buy one locally, I have tried a few but the others seem to just dry my hair. These will now be the only shampoo bars I order. Also I was very skeptical of the Hair Rinse....the thought of putting Apple Cider Vinegar in my hair....hahaha.....but love it.....so happy I talked to the Earth to Body folks at the sale! All around an amazing combination for my hair. I can not wait for my order to get here!

A great combo for sure.  Thank you so much, Desiree.

I didn't like it it made my hair dry and stringy.

You tried, David.  Thank you. A shampoo bar is a different experience and it can take practice. Some like it immediately, others trial and error for several washes.  You need very little lather.  Most often people use too much.  The apple cider vinegar and shampoo combo work well together.  Our advise is to try again as you will end up loving it. We do hope you like it as a soap bar, though!

Did exactly as indicated on the web re lather and rinsing with vinegar/water solution but added essential oil to the mix. Am very pleased with the results...my hair has more body, holds a wave simply with brushing and feels and looks clean longer. May try other brands out of curiosity but this one is very good. Have used it for six weeks now and won't go back to bottled shampoo. Yeah!

We love the addition of your fav essential oil. Thank you, Catherine.

I love this product.. I have tried everything out there available for psoriasis from natural products to Doctor prescribed. The soap bar is the best I have found to stop the itching and takes the redness out. I also carry a bar in my purse and when my psoriasis start to itch I rub it on dry. I also use it as shampoo, takes away the itch and I find I don't have the frizzes, hair is more manageable. Thank you for a great product.

Wendy, a most interesting solution to use the dry bar when needed. Thank you for the great hint and for loving the bar!

I bought this a while ago and never tried it as I had my reservations. I have run out of shampoo and am avoiding going out due to COVID. I finally tried the shampoo bar and the product is fantastic, my hair feels fuller, thicker and has more body. I am very impressed and will continue using this for my hair.

So glad it works for you, Kat! Thank you.

My 6 year old dog has been a challenge for us because she has had such an itchy hide! She is on Apoquel medication, AND homemade dog food! I had given up bathing her; her extra scratching would carry on for days! When I received my shampoo soap from you, I got up my nerve and bathed her. It was so easy to use, dissolves easily onto the dog; easier to handle with wet hands than squeezing a tube of expensive special shampoo from the Vet. I rinsed her as well with diluted apple cider vinegar and enjoyed having a sparkling clean pooch with soft wavy shiny hair—and NO scratching! My rating is a 5 out of 5, not only for her, but my own hair! love it ! Thank you for producing so many wonderful, chemical free products. I will be reordering the tooth cleaner as well. And also love the Spoil-me body oil.

Thank you, Donna. So happy for your dog too! We discovered the combo after our dog got skunked. Fresh as a daisy!

I was lucky enough to see this store and I went inside. I bought the shampoo/soap bar and am hooked. My skin is so soft. I can’t wait to wash my hair with it. I’ll be back to buy a bar for a friend. She will love it too. The owner is so nice and helpful.

Thank you, Maria. So glad you are enjoying the shampoo/soap bar!

I have fallen in love with your "Original" Shampoo Bar. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the scent! Wish you made a conditioner with the same scent! This is my first time ordering your Argan Oil and plan to use it as a conditioner - hope it doesn't cover up the shampoo scent too much - fingers crossed!

Not to worry...the argan oil is subtle enough.  Thank you for the enthusiastic review, Lou
