Ingredients
Distilled water has virtually all of its impurities removed through distillation. Distillation involves boiling the water and then condensing the steam into a clean container, leaving nearly all of the solid contaminants behind. Distillation produces very pure water.
Sweet Almond Oil (prunus amygdalus dulcis), is nearest to the natural oil found in the skin and is beneficial for dryness It also helps diminish the appearance of wrinkles.
Rosewater (rosmarinus officialis) is mildly astringent and makes a valuable addition to our lotion for soothing the skin. It has antibacterial cleansing properties and is ideal for sensitive, acne prone skin.
Orange flower water (citrus aurantium amara) cools, soothes and tones, and helps reduce the appearance of redness.
Lanette wax (cocos nuciferia, cetearyl glucoside, cetearyl alcohol) is a blend of raw vegetable base (coconut, palm and glucose) and chemical (ceterayl glucosie and cetearyl alcohol) that blends well in a mixture of oil and water, herbal infusions and florals. Most lanettes contain sodium laural sulphate, but ours DOES NOT. It works beautifully as a base for cosmetic creams. All creams need some sort of wax base.
Calendula (calendula officialis) is derived from the dried flowers of golden marigolds. It leaves the skin soft to the touch and is comforting on chapped, dry skin.
Comfrey (symphytum officinale) is a perennial shrub that is native to Europe and temperate parts of Asia. It is an age old skin care miracle! This valuable soothing herb can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, making the skin healthy and vibrant.
Aloe vera (aloe barbadensis) The soothing properties of Aloe Vera are ideally suited to caring for the skin, helping to protect the lips against the sun and wind. It is especially soothing to dry skin irritations.
Shea Butter (butyrosperum parkii) is from the wild shea trees of Africa. It is known for its cosmetic properties as a moisturizer and emollient. It can lessen dry skin irritations aggravated by acne, eczema and psoriasis and has a skin softening effect, making it most desirable in a lotion.
Lavender (lavendula augustofolia) has a sweet, crisp scent. Lavender has a long history of cosmetic use. The name comes from the Latin ‘lavare’ which means ‘to wash’. It has a relaxing and calming effect.
Emu Oil has been used for thousands of years by the Aborigines of Australia. We use unrefined, natural emu oil that has not been boiled or clay filtered. Neem Oil (azadirachtin indica) is an excellent addition to a salve. It tones, nourishes and protects dry skin, keeping the skin healthy. This oil has moisturizing properties and contains Vitamin E as well as essential fatty acids. Neem oil is very useful for soothing dry, itchy skin associated with eczema, psoriasis and acne. Neem tree oil is also used in salves and creams that help to soothe and protect the skin.
Jojoba oil (simmondsia chinensis) Excellent moisturizing and emulsifying properties. Jojoba is rich in Vitamin E, contains proteins and mineral. It helps alleviate the dryness often presented with eczema and psoriasis, thus making it an excellent soother in the lotion. Natural SPF of 4
Glycerin (Vegetable) A favorite in keeping the skin soft. Glycerin has been used in cosmetics for thousands of years as a solvent, plasticizer, humectant, emollient, and a lubricant. Vegetable Glycerin is known to moisturize and soft skin tissue.
Apricot Oil (prunus armeniaca) is rich in the essential oleic and linolenic fatty acids and is known for its ability to penetrate the skin without leaving an oily feel. It moisturizes and revitalizes dry or aged skin.
White Grapefruit Oil (citrus grandis) is used in cases of muscle fatigue and stiffness. It has a helpful effect on congested oily skin and acne; it tones the skin and tissues.
Evening Primrose Oil (oenothera biennis) maintains smooth, supple skin, improves elasticity and soothes dryness. Evening Primrose has been extolled by herbalists as an excellent soother for dryness from eczema, psoriasis and other skin conditions.
Vitamin E (tocopheryl acetate) is a fat soluble, anti-oxidant nutrient that soothes, moisturizes and improves the texture of the skin.
Sweet Orange (citrus aurantum dulcis) acid content gently dissolves grease and dirt buildup. It is beneficial and soothing to dry irritated skin.
Lemonseed Extract (citrus medica limonum) is a bio-citrus extract used as our natural preservative controlling bacteria and fungi.
Vitamin E (d-alpha tocopherol). This full spectrum tocopheral is a natural preservative that helps sustain shelf life of products. It plays a crucial role in protecting skin cells and membranes from environmental damage.
