Ingredients
Olive Oil (olea europea) with its high vitamin E content is an excellent moisturizer. It softens, soothes and protects the skin.
Cocoa butter (theobroma cacoa) is a wax obtained from the roasted cocoa bean (Theobroma). Its light creamy consistency has emollient qualities and absorbs quickly into the skin.
Shea Butter (butrosperum parkii) is nature’s wonder coming from Africa’s shea-karite tree. It has a high content of irremovable fatty acid, which gives Shea Butter its unique properties, making it superior to other butters. We use the unrefined, natural shea, making a nutritiously delicious addition to our body bar. Shea butter is effective at helping reduce appearance of scars, wrinkles and stretch marks. It soothes acne, severely dry skin and chapped skin. Shea butter provides natural protection. Sun-sensitive persons should not rely solely on shea butter for protection. Shea butter absorbs rapidly into the skin without leaving a greasy feeling.
Beeswax (unrefined, natural) is a rich source of carotene. Beeswax is one of nature’s most wonderful ingredients to use as a thickening agent, emulsifier, and humectant. It has wonderfully emollient, soothing and softening properties and helps the skin retain moisture.
Neem Oil (azadirachtin indica) is an excellent addition to a salve. It tones, nourishes and protects dry skin, keeping the skin healthy. This oil has moisturizing properties and contains Vitamin E as well as essential fatty acids. Neem oil is very useful for soothing dry, itchy, or otherwise stressed and damaged skin. Neem tree oil is popular in many cosmetic products.
Citronella Oil (cymbopogon nardis) has a some what sweet lemony smell. Although this essential oil has been typecast as an insect repellant (especially for malaria carrying mosquitoes), it also has great benefit in clearing the mind, refreshing rooms and for softening skin, while combating oily skin and sweaty feet.
Lemon Tea Tree Oil (leptosperum petersoni) originates in Queensland (Australia) ts bright fresh aroma is quite purifying. The oil has a pleasant, 'round' lemon scent, found by some to be smoother than lemongrass or citronella.
Lemonseed Extract (citrus medica limonum) is a bio-citrus extract used as our natural preservative.
Catnip (nepeta cataria) is a perennial herb belonging to the mint family and grows wild here in North America. Catnip is high in vitamins C and E, rich in antioxidants. Catnip can help soothe dry and irritated skin.

Our NeemBodyBar is made with pure, cosmetic grade neem oil. It is the same pure oil we use in all of our neem products. Many of our customers inquire about the use of neem oil as an insect repellent in the garden. This garden-variety neem product is a ‘clarified’ neem oil and can be purchased at most nurseries and garden centres. The clarified oil is NOT recommended for use on the skin and is different from the cosmetic variety, which is recommended for the skin.
