It seems like, at least in our part of the world - Montreal and environs - that winter is making a late and perhaps to some, an unwelcome appearance. This morning the slush was ankle deep and tonight's forecast is for very strong and chilly winds; perhaps we should look upon these tidings with a different perspective, as in the following verses:
"Winds of March, we welcome you,
There is work for you to do.
Work and play and blow all day,
Blow the winter wind away.”
"Springtime is the land awakening.
The March winds are the morning yawn."
Lewis Grizzard, from “Kathy Sue Loudermilk, I Love You”
"Spring is when you feel like whistling even with a shoe full of slush."
"March winds and April showers,
Bring forth May flowers."
If quoting poetry doesn't 'float your boat' then perhaps lighting an Earth To Body Soy Candles will lift your spirits. Don't put romance on the back-burner just because St. Valentines has come and gone. Earth To Body has added two new enticing scents and a smaller, handy votive to our line of luxurious soy candles and body wax. Burn the candle and bathe in the warmth glow of:
- Cleansing Eucalyptus
- Calming Lavender
- Sensual Patchouli and Sweet Orange
- Refreshing Grapefruit
- or simply Unscented
then massage the warm and nutritious soy wax right into your skin.
As well, Earth To Body's Sheamu and Shargan Butter, blends of organic shea and emu or argan oils will not only enrich and nourish your skin; it will serve as the perfect base for a relaxing or invigorating massage experience.
I recently had a lymphatic drainage massage and the therapist used a combination of fennel, ginger and grapefruit essential oils. Heavenly! If in doubt regarding quantities or varieties to use, always consult a certified aromatherapist.
* When combining oils to be used in massage, have the proper supplies on hand. Dark bottles (brown, blue, etc.) in a 2 oz size work very well, and can be obtained with relative ease.
Using a small funnel, fill the container half full until you have about 1 oz of carrier oil. To the carrier oil, add 12-15 drops of essential oil and place the lid on the container. Shake well (the container - not you!!).
You can use only one essential oil or combine up to three of your choice to comprise the 12-15 drops. And there you have it! Your very own blend of massage oil!
Tip: Make small quantities as outlined above or you may end up with leftovers - blended oils will turn rancid fairly quickly. Store in a cool dark place with the lid tightly closed and they will last up to three months. Let your nose be your guide - if the blend no longer smells good, consider a fresh mix.
